Lakeside Shopping Centre today announces that Urban Outfitters, the world-leading fashion and lifestyle retailer, is set to open in summer 2026 on the lower level, further strengthening the destination’s fashion offer and cementing the super-regional scheme as a home for premier international brands.
The new 6,500 sq ft store will offer the brand’s signature blend of menswear, womenswear, accessories and homeware from its proprietary brands including Urban Outfitters Masterbrand, BDG, iets frans. Kimchi Blue, Loom and Ayker: all designed in-house at the London Head Office. The store will also showcase sought-after labels like Levi’s, Dickies, Carhartt WIP. With a strong following among a fashion-forward, younger demographic, the brand’s arrival will further diversify Lakeside’s customer base while strengthening its position as a leading fashion destination.
Known for its experiential retail environments, the Urban Outfitters store at Lakeside will doubly serve as a cultural hub, with a space designed for social connection, curated music and a dynamic lifestyle offering. Urban Outfitters’ blended retail approach aligns with Lakeside’s commitment to greater dwell time from day into evening and creating memorable experiences that keep visitors coming back.

This highly anticipated arrival marks another milestone in Lakeside’s ongoing transformation which has seen more than £100 million invested by brand partners in new shop fits over the past three years. Coming off the back of a strong 2025 which saw impressive sales growth, this momentum is reshaping both the physical environment and the commercial performance of Essex’s flagship retail destination.
Urban Outfitters is a significant addition to the centre’s growing fashion and lifestyle lineup, which features the recent investment from existing brands including Next and JD, both of which have upsized their stores, alongside an enhanced M&S and new Bershka, The White Company and Hollister stores, set to arrive later this year.
Rob Jewell, Managing Director, Asset Management at Pradera Lateral, added: “Driven by a multi-million-pound CAPEX investment and an expansive leasing strategy, 2026 is set to be a transformative year for Lakeside. The arrival of Urban Outfitters reinforces that Lakeside is the place to be for brands that want visibility, volume and long-term growth, and marks an exciting beginning to the calendar year.”
