atria Watford, one of the UK’s most popular retail and leisure destinations, owned by property company SGS and asset managed by Global Mutual in conjunction with Savills as property managers, is pleased to announce that British womenswear brand, Hobbs, has opened its first store at atria Watford.

Hobbs’ new store will showcase the brand’s latest collection, blending timeless style with a British sensibility. Designed to cater for all life’s moments, it offers everyday, workwear and occasion outfits – with selected styles available in sizes 6-22 and petite. In addition, the store offers a personal styling service with a team of stylists who are experts at providing perfect, flattering outfit solutions for every customer.

The store, which covers c. 3,300 sq ft, incorporates aesthetic elements, such as a stone style entrance, carefully selected colour scheme and contemporary soft furnishings.

The store is situated in Charter Place, a prime location in the centre, which is now fully let for first time since the development completed in 2019.

Other popular brands in Charter Place include NEXT and ZARA – both of which have made significant investments into their stores. In 2022, NEXT opened a c. 94,000 sq ft store combining home, beauty and fashion, and ZARA recently opened a two-story store spanning c. 43,000 sq ft which represents a significant upsize – over doubling the size of the brand’s previous unit (18,000 sq ft.).

atria Watford is a leading retail and leisure destination, covering 1.4 million sq ft in total. The centre is home to hundreds of brands, of all shapes and sizes – from small independents through to household names – with some other well-known tenants including Mango, Uniqlo and Hollister.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, comments:

“Hobbs is a great addition to atria Watford and we are excited to see the new store welcome shoppers. The brand joins a string of new names at the centre and its offer aligns exactly with what we want to give our visitors – quality, choice and excellent in-store experiences.

“We are also delighted that Charter Place has reached the significant milestone of being fully let – following completion of the extension in 2019. The development has attracted a strong line-up of brands – including NEXT and ZARA – and has provided a real boost to centre footfall and spend.”
