Redevco’s Chelmer Village Retail Park in Chelmsford has been selected for Waitrose’s newest store, marking a significant milestone for both Waitrose and the scheme’s owner, Redevco and taking the park to fully let.

The new store is Waitrose’s latest, comprising approximately 10,055 sq ft, including a 7,000 sq ft sales area, alongside two dedicated trolley bays within the car park.

The collaboration with Waitrose follows Redevco’s acquisition of a £518 million UK retail park portfolio in December 2024 from Oxford Properties, of which Chelmer Village forms a part.

Leasing momentum has gathered pace across Redevco’s portfolio in recent months. The Food Warehouse by Iceland has recently replaced Carpetright at Bolton Gate Retail Park. In Staines, The Range took over Homebase’s lease at the beginning of 2025 and subsequently committed to a new lease in December 2025, underlining its continued confidence in the location and trading performance.

Lauren Chew, Asset Manager at Redevco, said: Waitrose’s decision to launch its newest store at Chelmer Village is a strong endorsement of the park. We are seeing sustained retailer appetite for well-located, convenience-led retail parks, and this collaboration demonstrates the strength of the asset.”
