Lendlease has announced that Kiki and Miumiu, the independent food market specialising in pan-Asian produce which started its business at Elephant Park, is to upsize on Walworth Road at the thriving Zone 1 London neighbourhood, more than doubling its footprint at the destination.

Extending into the adjacent unit, the new larger store will cover 4,745 sq ft and elevate Kiki and Miumiu’s offer, also bringing in Taiwanese bubble tea concept, T4. Adding to its array of authentic products from across the ESEA region, the expanded space will celebrate fresh ingredients alongside a vibrant selection of snacks, beverages, and cooking essentials. This significant upsize follows two hugely successful years of trading for Kiki and Miumiu, with the decision to take additional space a direct consequence of strong sales for the brand. Work has begun to create the additional grocery and bubble tea space, which is set to open later this year.

Lendlease is also currently marketing the latest phase of Elephant Park’s development, creating ten new retail and restaurant units bounded by three distinct areas: Sayer Street, Heygate Street, and the two-acre public park in the centre of Elephant Park. Several Elephant Park operators are looking to follow in the footsteps of Kiki and Miumiu, as ongoing discussions to expand into the new phase highlight their shared success at the destination. Half of the units are already under offer.

Guy Thomas, Head of Retail & Place Assets at Lendlease, commented: “Kiki and Miumiu’s journey here at Elephant Park is a brilliant success story for the destination. The brand’s commitment to providing authentic and exciting produce has given them a loyal and engaged customer base, completely vindicating our decision to entrust this great corner unit to a new independent operation. We firmly believed the offer would resonate and are pleased to be supporting Kiki and Miumiu with their resulting expansion, watching them go from strength to strength as Elephant Park tenants continue to thrive.”

Eddie Chan, owner of Kiki and Miumiu, said: “We have had an incredible two years within Elephant Park’s unique neighbourhood location, and it is a wonderful feeling to be more than doubling Kiki and Miumiu’s footprint within the destination. We are proud to be elevating our offer, extending our product ranges and welcoming popular Taiwanese bubble tea brand, T4. We look forward to unveiling our new space in the coming months.”

The announcement follows the news that Kachori, a modern all-day dining Indian restaurant, has officially opened on Ash Avenue in Lendlease’s Elephant Park neighbourhood, joining the line-up of diverse cuisines at the destination.
