Bang & Olufsen is inviting Londoners to experience products from its portfolio in an immersive new pop-up space. The venue has been turned into a Scandi oasis designed to inform and inspire as well as stimulate the senses.

Music and design aficionados can expect a free-to-enter space where they can experience the brand’s iconic products and take advantage of trade-in offers. It will also play host to a calendar of exciting events for the public, including interactive workshops, experiences, and live music, all underpinned by the extraordinary power of sound.

Nestled in East London near Shoreditch High Street Station, the chic Redchurch Street pop-up will take visitors on a journey through various zones, each one demonstrating Bang & Olufsen’s seamless blend of sound, craft, and design.

Guests will be invited to try their hand at creating a unique cover for the brand’s celebrated powerful wireless speaker – the Beoplay A9 – to be in with a chance to have their design made and take it home. Competition entries can be submitted in store, or via Instagram, simply by using the template provided and tagging their design #BangOlufsenShoreditch.

Born out of Copenhagen, Danish espresso bar Hagen will operate a Filter Coffee Bar serving a portfolio of special beans for visitors.

A DJ booth and record store will inhabit another area, drawing visitors over with a selection of carefully curated vinyls. Customers can browse albums and enjoy their favourite tracks, just as the artist intended, on the classic Beogram 4000c turntable. In the calm of the low lighting demonstration room, visitors can enjoy dedicated listening, and on selected dates the room will turn into a Pitchblack Playback experience, where all distractions are removed including the light, allowing the Bang & Olufsen acoustics to take centre stage.

In line with Bang & Olufsen’s considered detail in design, the space will be a delight for the eyes as well as the ears. A warm and welcoming haven, each element of the pop-up has been carefully considered to give visitors a true sense of escapism as they enter the doors. A stylish, yellow colourway will flood the space, signifying the brand’s Connected Speaker campaign – Sounds Better Together – which will be furnished with Scandinavian modern originals courtesy of Fredericia for a sharp yet comfortable feel. Accompanying the wall mounted Bang & Olufsen speakers will be artwork showcasing the most exciting up-and-coming artists, as well as the Beosound Level speaker, the world’s first consumer electronics product to achieve a Cradle to Cradle® certification.

Finally, guests can peruse the retail store, where the entirety of the brand’s Connected Speakers range will be available to self-serve play and purchase, any items not in store can be ordered for next day delivery, and one-to-one product demonstrations can be carried out by simply asking a member of staff.

The store will host a calendar of exciting events for the public including:

  • An immersive sound and whisky tasting session with the iconic Scottish whisky brand, Johnnie Walker Blue Label
  • A tasting experience with London Fields Brewery where guests can sample the finest beer whilst listening to a curated playlist
  • Live music courtesy of Sofar Sounds played through Bang & Olufsen’s speakers
  • Pitchblack Playback offering a distraction-free, immersive classic album listening experience in the dark
