Everybody loves a freebie. But be honest. You always look for the catch, don’t you? Well, sometimes there isn’t a catch and things really just free.

Here are some of the best freebies on offer this summer:

A free shop at M&S

Not everyone who shops at M&S is going to get their shopping free. But anybody who scans their Sparks Card at the checkout is in with the chance of getting their goods gratis.

Getting a Sparks Card couldn’t be easier. Simply download the M&S app and register. You can then store your digital card in a Google Wallet (also free) and simply scan it each time you shop.

And if you thought M&S was too expensive, think again. While they sell premium price products, they also stock some affordable options such as their Higher Welfare chicken legs at just £2.50 per kg.

Free games

For a little light entertainment any time of day or night, all you need is a smartphone or any other handheld device. There are plenty of free games available including virtual Scrabble and Monopoly or you could try out Paddy Power bingo for free from the comfort of your living room – or even in the bath!

Get your haircut for nothing

The best thing is, you don’t have to do it yourself – or let your mate who thinks she qualified by watching a YouTube video cut it. Hair salons all over the country offer free haircuts for ‘models’ willing to let trainees do the job. Don’t worry, they’ve had proper training and are fully supervised.

Some put a card up in the window asking for models, but not all do. So, don’t be afraid to pop in and ask. You might be pleasantly surprised that they accept your offer – after all, you’re doing them a favour too.

Free mealbox

Finding exciting meals to make can be a challenge – particularly on weeknights. Which is why recent years have seen a boom in the subscription box meal sector. If you’re interested to discover what they’re all about or just fancy picking up a free meal box, head to SimplyCook. With more than 100 recipes to choose from, you’re bound to find inspiration even if you don’t join.

But why wouldn’t you sign up? With a free meal box and no long-term commitment, it’s a great way to find out whether this is for you – or just enjoy a tasty meal at no cost. Just remember to go online and cancel your subscription in good time if you decide not to continue.

A Free Krispy Kreme

Is there any finer doughnut? Maybe. But can you get one for free? Krispy Kreme offers a rewards scheme everytime you buy – but you get a free doughnut just for joining the scheme. Simply head to their website, sign up  – and make sure you use your correct email address. When you receive the voucher into your inbox, you can go to any retailer who sells Krispy Kremes and pick up one for free.
