Danish homewares store, Søstrene Grene, is set to open its fourth British store in the heart of Manchester on Friday 11th October. To celebrate the unveiling, the new flagship store will hold an exclusive launch party on Thursday 10th October, a day ahead of its grand opening.
The store will be housed in one of the most iconic, grade II listed buildings in the city, The Royal Exchange. Customers can expect minimalistic, Scandinavian designs in a wide-range of homewares, furniture, kitchen products, Christmas decorations, gifts, wrapping paper, cards, hobby crafts, toys, accessories and ‘mini home’ products for children. New products come into Søstrene Grene weekly, making every visit unique and a chance for customers to discover new finds.
Jonathan Cooper, joint venture partner for the store, comments: “Having opened the third Sostrene Grene store exactly a year ago on the outskirts of the city in Altrincham, it made perfect sense to open a flagship store in the heart of Manchester. The growth of city living has been exponential and we felt a lifestyle shop with strong Danish design would fit perfectly in the centre of this fantastic City. I am excited to be opening in the Royal Exchange, an iconic building in Manchester that works perfectly alongside our stylish and affordable brand. We hope shoppers love the store as much as our customers in Chester and Nottingham, whether it’s to buy some wrapping paper or redesign their whole living room with our interior products.”
Every Søstrene Grene store is designed to give customers a break from their busy lives, as they search the shelves for new and exciting finds. As a retail chain they aspire to enrich everyday life with aesthetic designs, creativity, joy and ‘hygge’ – a special state of contentment, warmth and belonging. The layouts are like labyrinths and the colourful products are neatly displayed in wooden crates under a relaxed, subdued lighting with a classical soundtrack.
The Manchester store officially opens on Friday 11th October at 9:30am.
