The UK’s drive-thru sector has seen significant expansion in recent years, with both international and domestic brands investing in new formats to meet consumer demand. One company that has played a consistent role in this growth is Eurobrick, a Bristol-based specialist in brick slip cladding systems.

For over three decades, Eurobrick has supplied durable and flexible cladding solutions to leading names in hospitality, including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Greggs and most recently Popeyes. Its systems are widely used in modular and off-site construction as well as traditional builds, offering speed, efficiency and reliable aesthetics.

McDonald’s – a partnership spanning over 30 years
Eurobrick’s longest-standing collaboration is with McDonald’s, having supplied its X-Clad system to contractors working on more than 1,000 restaurants across the UK. The designs use modular construction, with cladding installed off-site before modules are delivered to site. A variety of finishes have been specified, from Smooth Anthracite slips through to natural stone, such as at McDonald’s newest store in Buxton.

Popeyes – rapid UK rollout
As Popeyes accelerates its UK expansion, Eurobrick has supplied cladding for five new outlets to date. Around 623m² of P-Clad has been installed so far, with finishes including Rustic Cream and Smooth White brick slips, often painted to align with the brand’s distinctive visual identity. Further projects are already in the pipeline.

Greggs – stone finishes with X-Clad
Greggs’ Bradford drive-thru demonstrates the versatility of Eurobrick’s X-Clad system. The project combined Marshalls Cromwell Pitched Face Buff stone slips with Ketley Staffordshire Blue details at the plinth. The ability to accommodate different stone heights allowed the creation of a coursed stone wall effect, showcasing the system’s potential for more traditional finishes.

Starbucks – consistency across formats
Starbucks has been developing its drive-thru portfolio since 2019, with Eurobrick supplying cladding systems for several of its new-build stores. Some restaurants have used Smooth White slips to achieve a clean, contemporary aesthetic, while others have used specially sourced slips to provide a distinctive finish. X-Clad was specified for feature walls both inside and out, ensuring brand consistency across sites.
