Few brands have cultivated the unwavering customer loyalty that TALA is known for. This relationship has been carefully curated and nurtured from the get-go, and now the activewear brand is taking its community strategy a step further and bringing its most engaged customers behind the scenes into experiences traditionally reserved for influencers.
Historically, brands have exclusively designed similar events around influencer partnerships, a well-established strategy for generating content, reach and brand visibility. But TALA is taking a different approach, as they recognise the value in building on their relationship with their customers, utilising the natural influence they have to offer in their own communities, and providing them with access to influencer-style experiences.

What is Camp TALA?
TALA is taking 9 influencers away to the Peak District for a long weekend of country walks, dinners, board games and movie marathons, all whilst showcasing its latest collection, designed for going off-grid, with the influencers delivering pre-agreed deliverables in return.
The perfectly planned itinerary includes activities such as yoga, Pilates, wild lunches, lawn games, bag charm making, cocktails, s’mores and movies, creating a fully immersive brand experience designed to generate content while bringing the collection to life.

How are TALA’s customers getting involved?
TALA’s customers will be getting their own Camp TALA experience. To coincide with the multi-drop collection, TALA is transforming its Carnaby Street store into a customer-facing version of Camp TALA.
Replicating the influencer trip through branded signage, decor, florals, food, drink and signature Camp TALA activities including carabiner clip making and bracelet welding, the activation brings the same sense of exclusivity to TALA’s customer community – deepening those customer connections and creating a memorable brand experience.
The in-store activation will also offer the exclusive early buy of unreleased outerwear to build excitement and create an additional incentive to engage whilst rewarding the brand’s most loyal customers. Alongside the in-store experience, TALA will also be launching a customer competition giving them the chance to win the full Camp TALA experience, extending the activation beyond the store and giving customers the opportunity to experience the same level of access and exclusivity.

This strategy allows TALA to turn customer engagement into long-term brand value
This strategy demonstrates how brands can leverage their existing customer base to drive authentic advocacy, deepen loyalty and extend reach. Inviting TALA’s most engaged customers behind the scenes makes them feel like they are a part of the brand, which helps to deepen their relationship with TALA beyond something that is simply transactional.
TALA’s customers already have a genuine affinity with the brand, making their content and recommendations feel more natural and their content some of TALA’s highest-performing on social media. By providing their customers with access to exclusive offers, pre-launch product access, and events that are traditionally associated with influencer partnerships, TALA is able to generate a consistent pipeline of organic UGC that it can amplify across social and other channels, while extending its reach through customers’ own networks, from friendship groups and run clubs to gyms and wider fitness communities, and allowing TALA to reach new audiences through trusted recommendations.
The growth continues with this way of working as the strategy creates a valuable feedback loop. TALA’s customers provide genuine and honest insight into how they wear TALA’s product, what they love and what they want from the brand, allowing TALA to adapt and cater to their customers’ needs.
Ultimately, this approach allows TALA to turn customer engagement into long-term brand value, fostering a loyal, connected customer base, whilst strengthening its credibility and relevance within the cultural spaces that matter most to its target audience.

Anita Hossain, Brand Marketing Director at TALA, comments on the strategy’s success, “We’re more focused than ever on giving our customer the same level of access and experience as influencers. Our customers have played an important role in TALA’s growth to date, and we see our customers as a powerful driver of advocacy, loyalty and brand awareness.
For our recent Cocoon Hoodie launch, we deliberately expanded the invite beyond traditional influencers and press to include members of the TALA community. This created a strong and more authentic mix of creators, customers and brand, allowing us to drive authentic advocacy alongside the traditional PR and influencer activity.
By putting customers at the heart of key brand moments, we’re not just strengthening their relationship with TALA, but also creating opportunities for more engaging content, word of mouth and longer-term customer value.”
