Dive into nostalgia this autumn with Regatta’s advertisement. The campaign is filled with beautiful moments of togetherness, connection and reflection, celebrating the memories made outdoors throughout family life.

The advert takes viewers to hilltop vistas, featuring tender moments between mother and her teenage son. As the duo make their way through the countryside, the viewer is welcomed into flashbacks of the same mother and son walking together when he was a toddler, contrasting the little boy she once walked alongside with the teenager beside her today. The son has grown up and their relationship has naturally evolved, but the outdoors has remained a backdrop to their time together and the memories they’ve made along the way.

The campaign was created by Manchester agency, driven. It was directed by Chris Fowles
through Velvet Productions.

The story at the heart of the advert reflects Regatta’s wider belief that being outside together creates lasting connections and experiences.

The advertisement is the hero of a wider integrated campaign across Regatta’s autumn winter campaign including social, digital and retail. Supporting the campaign, an influencer marketing programme led by Label PR will activate Regatta’s ambassadors and outdoor creators throughout October, producing content that mirrors the campaign’s core messaging. Furthering the campaign’s message beyond advertising, Regatta is supporting The Outdoor Collaborative’s Youth Ambassador Programme and continuing to work with PGL to get young people outdoors.

The Outdoor Collaborative is a Greater Manchester charity that brings young people together through outdoor photography, filmmaking and digital media. Its sessions give young people opportunities to explore new places, develop creative and practical skills, and grow in confidence. Through its Youth Ambassador Programme, young people can take a more active role in outdoor activities, learn to tell their own stories through photography and film, and help shape experiences for others.

As part of Memories Are Made Outdoors, Regatta is supporting the programme with outdoor clothing and funding to help young people take part, learn and create.

Adam Ward, Trustee, The Outdoor Collaborative, said: “Getting outdoors gives young people space to try something new, connect with others and see what they can achieve. Our Youth Ambassador Programme gives them a voice in the activities we run and the chance to build skills through photography and film. Regatta’s support will help us equip young people for outdoor sessions and invest in the creative resources they need to tell their own stories. We’re excited to see the experiences and memories they make along the way.”

Helen Monks, Brand Director at Regatta, said: “This year, we went back to why the Regatta brand began. We’ve spent decades helping families get outdoors, whatever the weather or adventure, and this campaign is an opportunity to talk about what getting outdoors ultimately gives people beyond the functional benefits – time together, connection and memories.

“Some of our most treasured memories are made during the simplest moments spent outdoors with family and friends. We want to celebrate those moments and inspire more people to get outside, spend time together and create new memories of their own.”

Through Memories Are Made Outdoors, Regatta is celebrating the moments that matter most, while helping more people experience the benefits of spending time outside. From the story told in its latest advert to its support of The Outdoor Collaborative, the campaign demonstrates the brand’s continued commitment to helping families and young people create lasting memories in the great outdoors.
