Born in 2018 from the shared passion of rock climbing enthusiasts from France and Japan, Topologie blends the practical elegance of climbing gear with the sophisticated flair of Franco-Japanese fashion, crafting functional wares for everyday adventures.
Following the opening of its first Paris flagship on rue du Temple, the brand expanded to London with its first store on Shoreditch’s Dray Walk and its Flagship in Covent Garden, before opening its first Netherlands store in Amsterdam in November last year.
Topologie now continues its London expansion with the opening of its third store in Soho, strengthening its presence in one of the world’s leading cultural capitals.
Alongside its retail growth, Topologie’s cultural footprint has been shaped through collaborations with Ed Banger Records, A.P.C., Maison Kitsuné, Clarks, and most recently, Pleasures.
Located at 79 Berwick Street in Soho – just steps away from cultural landmarks like The Photographer’s Gallery, Chinatown and the capital’s most famous shopping destination, Oxford Street – the new store places Topologie at the heart of London’s creative landscape. It’s here that the full collection and its customisable possibilities come to life, giving visitors a hands-on encounter with the brand’s signature system.
At the heart of every Topologie store is the transformative Topologie Wares System™, which allows urban explorers to curate their own personalised collection – built for the thrill of everyday discovery. The system includes over 100 interchangeable straps inspired by authentic climbing ropes and hardware, paired with thoughtfully designed bags and cases, each featuring carefully considered compartments.
At the new Soho store, customers are invited to unlock this creative system firsthand and co-create their unique carry essentials from an array of over 1,000 possible combinations. The space follows Topologie’s signature aesthetic, blending pegboards with scaffold-inspired metal structures to create a modular, adaptive environment. Rows of fully stocked under-counter storage further amplify the sense of abundance and possibility, reinforcing the system’s limitless potential.
William Oliver, Director of Retail & Restaurant Leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, commented “Topologie is a great example of an ambitious, growing brand with a strong track record of success, making it the perfect addition to the Soho neighbourhood. Our ability to support the brand’s continued expansion across our portfolio, following the success of their Covent Garden flagship, reflects both Topologie’s dynamic momentum and our commitment to curating distinctive retail experiences across the West End.”
