American skincare brand and facial clinic, Skin Laundry, has expanded its international footprint with the opening of its first freestanding location in Newburgh Street, Soho.

Opened on 22 October, the inside of the 150 sqm central-London property has been completely overhauled by European construction firm, Agilité Solutions – in order to create the ideal base for the expanding beauty brand.

Overseeing the turnkey delivery of the refurbishment, the six-week project included all design, permit management, procurement and strip-out of the former menswear store, as well as the construction and decoration of the listed building.

Douglas Deptula, project manager at Agilité Solutions, explained: “This is the first time we have worked with Skin Laundry, but we are delighted to be asked to oversee the company’s expansion into London.

“While our focus has previously been on helping brands to expand into mainland Europe – particularly across France, Italy and Germany – the UK plays a significant role in our growth plans for 2021. And what a way to begin!”

Gregg Throgmartin, CEO, at Skin Laundry, added: “Following the success of Skin Laundry’s Liberty London concession, it became apparent that we should look to open our own store in the city. The unveiling of the Newburgh Street clinic is our first ‘bricks and mortar’ occupation in the UK, and gives us the space to ensure the safety of our clients and staff, more appointment availability, easy street access, and so much more!

“Having seen some of Agilité Solutions’ work in Paris, it was clear they were the right people to create our British ‘home’. While the pandemic has thrown up challenges for businesses across the globe – not least in the skincare sector – the time has allowed us to find, design and refurbish our new home in London. We are looking forward to welcoming existing and new clients to the Soho store.”

Launched in 2013, the brand has coined the phrase ‘we made laser facials a thing’ and now has its own skincare line and 16 clinics across the globe, with sites in the US, Hong Kong, Dubai, and London.
